PinnacleAfter yesterday's totaly missed pick, today I have to risk a little, trying to finish this month in good style.
Here we have first round of Champions League Women, and Polish team Muszyna will host Russian Zariecze Odintsovo. Considering only line ups of both teams, odds are set well by bookies, as Muszyna is almost Polish NT + 2 Netherlands players Wensink and Stam. But this strenght of Muszyna has also black side, as we just 10 days ago finished World Champs in volley. So this team is training together since 5 days only! What is also important, girls are very tired after long preparations with NT, and very long and hard tournament in Japan. Also Stam isn't 100% fit to play on full lenght of game, as he is after back injury.
Russian team is builid from less known players, except two foreigners : Kozuch (she also was on WC) and Walewska (Brasilian, she wasn't in NT) - funny thing that both has Polish names . So this team has a lot of time to prepare well for incoming season, and should be much more fit and understanding eachother.
What is also very interesting for that pick, if you look back at history of Muszyna starts in CL campaigns, you will see that first game they usually lose 0:3 .
So summing up, Muszyna with no preparation process, girls are tired, and not in best form. Russians are personally weaker - even that they have two stars in team, but they should be better prepared for that game. Polish side will have some troubles with attack on tall Russian block, as reception wasn't working well in Poland during WC. That will mean a lot of counterattacks for Russians, and hopefully win for them.
