Dear Sir/Madam,
I am Betdaq's customer but admittedly not a very active one. This may
however change in the future. Yet I do have an idea which you may find
useful.
I remember Betdaq's "unfair commission department" campaign featuring
Betfair from two years ago. I do not know if it proved profitable for
you in any way but in my opinion this was one of the very few positive
moves in the betting exchanges sector in recent years. Let me make
this clear that in launching such negative campaings against your big
competitor you have my full support as well as full support of
probably most of your customers. Obviously a monopoly is good neither
for you nor for the players.
Now more to the point. You are probably aware of
Betfair's new
additional "premium" charges. Just in case you are not they were
introduced last September and are calculated weekly. The charge is put
on top of the standard commission and can go into thousands of pounds
for the most successful players every week. You can read more about
this new charge at

in 5) Premium Charges. Many of the players are outraged at this new
fee. If you called 2007 charge increase "unfair" how can you call
this?
For players, apart from the charge itself, the biggest outrage was the
fashion in which these fees were introduced. NOT A SINGLE E-MAIL
MESSAGE WAS SENT, NOR WAS THERE ANY QUESTION IF YOU ACCEPTED THE
CHARGES OR NOT. They probably announced it somewhere - most probably in
their forum which hardly anybody reads. I myself learned about this
from external sources. What is more I am certain that after 5 months
more than 70% of their customers are still not even aware of the
additional charge. Even though they can be subject to it at any
moment. Some players learned about it only when they found substanial
sums of money missing from their accounts.
I hope you can handle this piece of information in such way that would
benefit the whole betting community.
Yours Sincerly
