Game 6 - Thursday, May 3rd, 8 p.m. Eastern (TNT) Houston @ Utah * The home team has won every game of this series so far and is 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings overall. The Jazz won Games 3 and 4 at home by an average of 13.5 points.
* Houston star Tracy McGrady still has not had a monster offensive game in this series even though he had 26 points and a career-high 16 assists in Game 5. McGrady got his teammates going early on in Game 5 and may need to take over himself in Game 6 since it will be a tougher environment on the road.
* Utah center Memhet Okur continued to do a solid job of defending Houston's Yao Ming in Game 5, helping hold Yao to just 6-of-18 shooting and force him into four turnovers. Yao managed to get the free-throw line 10 times though compared to just four times in Game 4. Okur scored a series-high 17 points in Game 4 and needs to make Yao play defense since he doesn't work as hard on that end and tires easily.
* Houston is 2-8 ATS in its last 10 games overall.
* Houston is 5-15 ATS when playing on two days of rest.
* Utah is 7-18 ATS in its last 25 road games.
* Utah is 6-2 ATS in its last 8 games vs. Southwest Division opponents.
* UNDER is 9-2 in the last 11 meetings in Utah.

Houston leads 3-2 SU (Utah 3-2 ATS)
UNDER 3-2
4/30/07 - Game 5: HOUSTON 96, Utah 92 (ATS winner: Utah +6 | OVER 188)SUMMARY: The Jazz again started out strong, leading at halftime for the fifth time in as many games of the series. They also outscored the Rockets in the third quarter 28-25 to take a four-point lead into the fourth. That's when Houston came alive though, taking a seven-point lead late until Utah battled back with a 6-0 run to cut the lead to one. The Rockets then closed out the game by when Yao Ming hit two free throws with 11 seconds left. Yao seemed to be fouled again with five seconds left after Utah's Deron Williams missed a 3-pointer, but the refs let the clock run out to cost Houston backers and hand Jazz supporters a victory against the spread.
4/28/07 - Game 4: UTAH 98, Houston 85 (ATS winner: Utah -2.5 | UNDER 184)SUMMARY: Utah built a 50-45 lead at halftime and pulled away with a 33-17 edge in the third quarter to rout the Rockets for the second straight game. Houston outscored the Jazz 23-15 in a low-scoring fourth quarter to make the final score a bit more respectable and force the total UNDER for the third time in the series.
4/26/07 - Game 3: UTAH 81, Houston 67 (ATS winner: Utah -4.5 | UNDER 188)SUMMARY: The Rockets scored just 25 points in the second half after scoring the same amount in the second quarter alone. That ensured an easy UNDER and sent the Rockets to a franchise-low 67 points in a playoff game. The Jazz shut down everybody other than Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming, who combined for 50 points.
4/23/07 - Game 2: HOUSTON 98, Utah 90 (ATS winner: Houston -5 | OVER 188)SUMMARY: The Rockets didn't wait until the second half to take off in this one. Instead, they rallied back in the second quarter after trailing by nine points at the end of a quarter for the second straight game. Each team failed to score more than 17 points in one of the first two quarters, but the second half turned what looked like a sure UNDER into an OVER. Houston scored 59 points after the break, including 31 in the fourth quarter, the highest total for either team through the first two games.
4/21/07 - Game 1: HOUSTON 84, Utah 75 (ATS winner: Houston -6.5 | UNDER 188.5)SUMMARY: The story of this game was Houston star Tracy McGrady, who scored just 1 point by halftime but erupted for 16 in the third quarter to turn a 9-point halftime deficit into a 6-point lead going into the fourth quarter. The Rockets outscored Utah 26-11 in the third after trailing 42-33 at the break. A couple missed 3-pointers by the Jazz in the final seconds kept them from covering. Each team also failed to score more than 20 points in two of the four quarters to force the total UNDER.
REMAINING SCHEDULE5/3/07 - Game 6: Houston at UTAH (TNT | 8 PM ET)
5/5/07 - Game 7: Utah at HOUSTON (IF NECESSARY, TBD)
REGULAR-SEASON RESULTS
Utah wins 3-1 SU & ATS
OVER/UNDER 2-2
4/18/07 - UTAH 101, Houston 91 (ATS winner: Utah -8.5 | UNDER 192.5)
4/1/07 - Utah 86, HOUSTON 83 (ATS winner: Utah +5.5 | UNDER 189.5)
1/5/07 - HOUSTON 100, Utah 86 (ATS winner: Houston -3 | OVER 184.5)
11/1/06 - UTAH 107, Houston 97 (ATS winner: Utah +1.5 | OVER 182.5)
REGULAR-SEASON SERIES RECAP: You can throw out the last meeting between the teams on the last day of the regular season, as Houston stars Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady sat out to rest for the playoffs. Yao also missed Houston's lone win in the season series with a broken leg, so Utah won both meetings when the teams were at full strength. Utah has a slightly better home record, so the home-court edge could be the key in this series for the Rockets even though the Jazz have proven they can win at Houston. This should be one of the most competitve matchups of the first round.

Game 6 - Thursday, May 3rd, 10:30 p.m. Eastern (TNT) Dallas @ Golden State * For the second time in the series, Golden State's Stephen Jackson and Baron Davis failed to finish the game. Jackson was tossed with two technicals for the second time in the series while Davis fouled out. The Warriors have won every other game in the series in which the duo has stayed on the floor until the final buzzer sounded.
* Mavs head coach Avery Johnson got another good performance from center DeSagana Diop in Game 5, as the 7-footer scored 11 points on 5-of-5 shooting and grabbed seven rebounds. Meanwhile, Golden State's Andris Biedrins and Al Harrington totaled 15 points and five rebounds between them.
* The Warriors have shown great poise in this series and believe they can win this series. The Mavs have still never rallied back from a 3-1 series deficit with no answer for Golden State point guard Baron Davis, who scored 27 points in Game 5 before fouling out late. The only two games Golden State has lost in the series happened with Davis out of the game.
* Golden State is 21-6-2 ATS in its last 29 meetings.
* Golden State is 21-6 ATS in its last 27 games overall.
* Golden State is 27-16 ATS at home.
* Golden State is 26-14-1 ATS when playing on one day of rest.
* OVER is 13-5 in Golden State's last 18 games.
Head-to-Head Recaps FIRST-ROUND RESULTS (HOME team in CAPS)
Golden State leads 3-2 SU (4-1 ATS)
UNDER 3-2
5/1/07 - Game 5: DALLAS 118, Golden State 112 (ATS winner: GS +9 | OVER 205.5)SUMMARY: The Mavs closed the game on a remarkable 15-0 lead after trailing 112-103 with 3:07 left. Dallas star Dirk Nowitzki fueled the run by scoring 12 of his game-high 30 points during the run, as the home team rallied back after blowing a 21-point lead. The high-scoring pace led to an easy OVER while Golden State backers still got a cover despite the meltdown.
4/29/07 - Game 4: GOLDEN STATE 103, Dallas 99 (ATS winner: GS +3.5 | UNDER 206.5)SUMMARY: The Mavs blew a seven-point lead with 6:30 left and fell to the Warriors for the eighth time in nine meetings. Golden State had every answer for the defending Western Conference champs, rallying back to tie the game at halftime after trailing by six at the end of the first quarter. Josh Howard scored 20 of his 22 points for the Mavs in the first half, and two 3-pointers by Dirk Nowitzki in the last 14 seconds obviously weren't enough to cover as a road favorite or push the total OVER.
4/27/07 - Game 3: GOLDEN STATE 109, Dallas 91 (ATS winner: GS +3.5 | UNDER 210.5)SUMMARY: The Warriors got off to a hot 29-20 start and were never really challenged by the Mavs, who struggled to score for the second time in three games. Dallas shot just 39 percent from the field with star Dirk Nowitzki also making less than half his shots for the second time in the series. Golden State took an 18-point lead into the fourth quarter, when both teams slowed the pace with the outcome already decided.
4/25/07 - Game 2: DALLAS 112, Golden State 99 (ATS winner: Dallas -9.5 | OVER 210)SUMMARY: The Mavs weren't able to pull away in this one until the Warriors were without starters Baron Davis and Stephen Jackson, who were both ejected late in the game. Davis was assessed his second technical at the end of the third quarter and tossed for arguing with an official while Jackson was booted with 4:34 left in the game. Golden State again played Dallas tough, leading by two at the end of the first quarter and trailing by two at halftime. The game was fast-paced in the first and third quarters and did not go OVER the total until Kelenna Azubuike made two free throws with eight seconds left. Azubuike helped the Warriors go on a 7-0 run to end the game, but it wasn't enough to cover the spread.
4/22/07 - Game 1: Golden State 97, DALLAS 85 (ATS winner: Golden State +10.5 | UNDER 213.5)SUMMARY: Golden State held Dallas to just 17 points in the first quarter and held MVP candidate Dirk Nowitzki to one of his worst playoff games ever to fuel a low-scoring yet dominant victory. Nowitzki totaled just 14 points on 4-of-16 shooting, and the Mavs shot just 35 percent as a team. Dallas did rally to tie the game at halftime by holding the Warriors to 15 points in the second quarter, but Golden State's Baron Davis scored 19 of his game-high 33 points in the third to re-establish the lead. Another sub 20-point quarter in the fourth ensured the total would go UNDER and secured a Warriors win.

3/12/07 - GOLDEN STATE 117, Dallas 100 (ATS winner: GS +7.5 | OVER 206)
11/6/06 - Golden State 107, DALLAS 104 (ATS winner: GS +9.5 | OVER 197)
REGULAR-SEASON SERIES RECAP: Not to make excuses for the league's best team during the regular season, but the first meeting came during a four-game losing streak to start the 2006-07 campaign. The Mavs then proceeded to win 12 straight games after that loss and went on a 61-8 run, including a 17-game winning streak that was snapped by Golden State. The final meeting was meaningless for Dallas and very meaningful for the the Warriors, who needed to win to hold off the Clippers for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. Needless to say, Dallas will have no excuses here and will need to show up against a hungry but inexperienced Golden State team that is making its first playoff appearance since 1994.
